S.C. export sales reach $41.5B in 2019

South Carolina set a record for total export sales for the 10th year in a row last year, with the state’s exporters selling $41.5 billion in products in 2019. This is a 19.7% increase over 2018 and ranks 11th among all states. Texas was the top exporter, with $330.5 billion in products sold. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

Port’s volume growth continues

The S.C. Ports Authority moved 211,020 TEUs across the Wando Welch and North Charleston container terminals in January, the highest total ever for January TEU volumes. Measured by the total number of boxes handled, the port moved 118,943 pier containers in January, for a total of 813,599 pier containers this fiscal year. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

Department of Administration issues Santee Cooper report

The S.C. Department of Administration’s report recommends the management plan put forth by Dominion Energy and the sale bid submitted by NextEra Energy, though the report does not endorse any actions, including a reform plan by Santee Cooper.
