NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
International Women's Day is an occasion for us to step back and look at how far the technology industry has come — and how far it has to go.
Our sister publication HR Dive this week highlighted how the wage gap for women in STEM has narrowed, but still persists. There are reports of promotion bias, too, survey respondents said.
CIO Dive Reporter Lindsey Wilkinson also found that women in tech are up against a toxic workplace culture, and many plan to leave their jobs this year.
I wish I could tell you there's an easy solution to reaching gender equity in the technology workplace. Change requires intention and follow-through. HR Dive found mentorship can help, too.
One takeaway: It's getting better. Lindsey's story shows the vast majority of women in tech say their experience, as it relates to gender equity and inclusion, improved in the last year.
Thank you for reading CIO Dive and happy International Women's Day,
