School board redistricting

A national civil rights group says the East Baton Rouge public schools need to increase the chances of Black people getting elected to their district board or it could violate the federal Voting Rights Act. In a letter sent hours before local school leaders held a workshop to talk about remapping the boundaries, NAACP argued that "at least half" of parish school board districts should be majority-Black, as Charles Lussier reports.
