As a painter, I am attracted to subjects that have a history to them; everyday objects from the past that have a story behind them, even if that story is not fully told, they have existed and touched the lives of people over many decades, and in some cases over a century. I am especially interested in capturing subjects that have a reflective shine or glow, which affords me the challenge of representing that three- dimensional interaction with light on a two-dimensional surface.
