Marvel Has Avenged Its Leak

This week, the leaked Avengers: Infinity War trailer unsurprisingly drew the most attention on The Mary Sue, but sadly, Marvel's assassins eventually found it and took it out, so if you missed it, there's not a lot to be done. If you read one of the footage descriptions from San Diego Comic-Con, though, you know exactly what was in it, even if you didn't get to see it for ourself. There was still plenty of other good news on the site over the last few days, all right here for you in our rundown of must-see posts of the week:
This week, we still cannot get over the announcement of Jodie Whittaker as the thirteenth Doctor (and we don't ever plan to), and we are not alone. After some great and not-so-great comments from other previous Doctors Who, ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston joined the chorus of the "great" side. Read and/or listen to his thoughts over on the site.
Have you been watching Rick and Morty? If so, then you know what the pickle on the left hand side is all about. If not ... why are you not watching Rick and Morty!? Seriously, this week's episode was well worth your time, not only for the excellent action movie homage theme, but for the way it handled the family's counseling. Check out Vivian's breakdown of what made it so great.
Oh no. We had been somewhat less than enthusiastic about what we'd seen so far of Marvel's Inhumans show, but as always, we were holding out hope that we'd be proven wrong and wind up with yet another piece of fiction to love. That hope isn't entirely dead yet, but an early review that made its way online does not bode well.
We were pretty turned off by a lot of what we head about Jared Leto's behavior during the production of Suicide Squad, but if you thought we didn't like him, then the creator of Bojack Horseman really doesn't like him. He explained why in response to a question about an allusion to that feeling in an upcoming episode, and it's a cathartic watch for anyone who might feel similarly.
William Shatner, a.k.a. Captain Kirk, a.k.a. a guy who has blocked us on Twitter for pointing out misogyny in his comments, has now (go figure) taken to railing against "snowflakes" and "SJWs" online. To boldly go where no (good) man has gone before, I guess.
Those of us who know what "bisexual" means could not be less surprised to find out that a person could be open to dating both women and men. Apparently, there are not enough of us, because some media outlets made headline news out of Kristen Stewart being open to dating men, despite that she has also previously dated women, and also men. Join us in mocking them, won't you?
In other things starring women that we can't stop talking about, Wonder Woman was great, but we're also feeling kind of lucky that it was. That's because Kaila took a look back at some other, versions of the character and story we could've wound up with that wouldn't have been nearly as satisfying. In hindsight, we're pretty thankful things worked out the way they did.
By the way, that's DOCTOR General Princess Leia Organa to you, you scruffy looking nerf herder. In a kind of offhand comment, George Lucas made all of our collective days by confirming that Leia had, in fact, earned her PhD—or whatever the Star Wars univers's equivalent is, probably—at a young age.
Finally, sadly, one of the biggest news items of a fairly slow news week was a Google employee's sexist memo about how he wasn't sexist, but diversity programs are bad and discriminate against dudes—and also women are biologically inferior due to his creative misinterpretation of science. It was awful, and many excuses have been made for its content, but here's the real truth.
