Daily Show writer and contributor Michelle Wolf was introduced at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Association dinner as someone who speaks truth to power, and she did just that, not only using her monologue to call out the Trump administration's well-documented propensity to lie about even the most insignificant matters, but raking the press over the coals for enabling Trump in general. Based on the ensuing reaction, still going this morning, some members of the media didn't like that.

Normally, Monday Cute is all about adorable animals or really cute babies, but this week I wanted to share a really sweet sci-fi short film that shows us what aliens might think of us if they came across the detritus of a long-lost Earth. Spoiler alert: they don't think we're terrible!

Ryan Reynolds continues to be the best part of the Deadpool 2 promotional campaign. He released a tweet today congratulating the Avengers on the record-breaking opening weekend of Infinity War, and included a photo of Deadpool's rejection letter from the Avengers. Reynolds wrote, "From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers."

Disney has just dropped a new featurette trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story which features the director Ron Howard and the members of the cast discussing the world of the standalone prequel. "The Star Wars universe that we see in Solo was different from anything else we've seen in any previous Star Wars movies," says Howard. "The Empire controls everything. Everyone is struggling to survive but we discover this incredible free spirit."

Twitter: it isn't all white supremacists and harassment! Sometimes it is hilarious and reminds us of the good in the world.
