Hi John,

US technology giants Apple, Google, Facebook and Microsoft have decided to draft a letter to US President Donald Trump, putting it oh-so-mildly that his stance on immigration may not be in their best interests.

Meanwhile, Melbourne-based developer Russell Coker has turned down a chance to explore employment in New York City, following the events in the US since the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

The Australian Taxation Office is yet to recover from the effects of a hardware crash in December, with the organisation continuing to face issues with system stability.

Tablet sales continued a downward death spiral in 2016, losing a further 20.1% year over year, marking the second straight year of decline. In contrast, despite concerns that the smartphone market was saturated and slowing, 1.47 billion handsets were shipped in 2016, up 2.3% year-on-year.

A new zero-day exploit that affects current versions of Windows has been released on Github, according to an announcement from the Internet Storm Centre.

Ransomware has hit several local government offices in the US state of Ohio and the authorities are still uncertain when things will get back to normal.

And of course, there's plenty more so for all the news visit www.itwire.com.

Have a great day!
