Chipotle Mexican Grill debuts menu item in the metaverse for the first time!

The rollout, in both the real world and the metaverse, marks the first time the fast-casual chain has unveiled a menu item on the new Web3 platform. 

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Chipotle Mexican Grill is rolling out its Garlic Guajillo Steak nationwide for a limited time, the chain announced on Tuesday. The new Chipotle Grill Simulator inside its metaverse on Roblox is located inside the brand’s Burrito Builder. The experience starts at the plancha, where visitors will need to perfectly grill and season as many steaks as they can before time runs out.

Here’s how California’s FAST Recovery Act could affect the entire restaurant industry

While the recently passed FAST Recovery Act has been drumming up controversy in California, the legislation — which could raise the state minimum wage to $22 an hour — is more wide-reaching than most people realize.

As a quick refresher, the FAST Recovery Act or Assembly Bill 257, was signed into law by California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Labor Day and was designed to give fast-food employees a seat at the table. The bill was widely criticized by the restaurant industry as unfairly targeting restaurants and punishing some small businesses (franchisees of large chains) but not others.
