Click here 2 May 2023 MEDIA ADVISORY Invitation to a virtual press conference on IHR amendments and the INB SUBJECT: Countries from around the world are currently working on negotiating and/or amending two international instruments which will help the world be better prepared when the next event with pandemic potential strikes. The Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) was established to draft and negotiate a convention, agreement or other international instrument to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness and response: http://inb.who.int . There have now been five sessions of negotiations on a potential pandemic accord. The second one is the Working Group on Amendments to the International Health Regulations. There has now had three sessions. Both of these Member State-led processes are being coordinated by "Bureaux" and a Co-Chair from each of these will update media on what Member States have been discussing, how the discussions are organized, and what are likely to be the next steps up until the projected conclusions of these processes in May 2024.
