Please find below information on report launches and panels organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Public Health of the State (MoPH) of Qatar at the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) conference, taking place from 4-6 October in Doha, Qatar. 4th October 13:30 – 15:30: Opening session of the Sport for Health Conference 5th October · Launch of version 2.0 of Florence the 24/7 A.I. Health Worker, the largest ever, free to use, and scalable digital health worker, who can now talk to you about mental health, physical activity, healthy diet, and quitting tobacco and e-cigarettes. · 14:55 - 16:10: A Global Call to Action to protect the mental health of health and care workers (report launch) with a mental health and workforce panel. · 15:50 – 16:45: COVID-19 - The Qatar Experience. This panel will focus on using evidence-based strategies for the pandemic response while identifying the main challenges, the practical solutions, and discussing lessons learned to face future pandemics and public health challenges. 6th October · 10:25 - 11:10: Panel on Behavioural[HMA1] Insights to nudge healthier food and beverage consumption in mega sporting events. The session will examine whether ensuring healthier options can counter the marketing for energy-dense, nutrient-poor products. It will also examine the role of the right “nudges” to address the dichotomy between health promotion policy and the marketing and consumption in mega sporting[HMA2] events. · 11:15 - 12:30: Playing the Long Game: A framework for promoting Physical Activities Through Sports Mega Events(report launch) in conjunction with a panel discussion. · 11:25 - 12:10: Panel on Leveraging Digital Communications to Promote Health and address Misinformation. The session will examine how policymakers can use information and digital tools to empower people to combat the infodemic and access reliable and valuable content while identifying and avoiding misinformation and disinformation. · 12:25 - 13:10: Panel on Event-based surveillance for mega sporting events & public health legacy. The panel will explore the preparations for a healthy and safe FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and legacy, with tangible and measurable solutions for replication in the future, setting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as a benchmark to other nations hosting mega sporting events[HMA3] Note to editors: World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) Conference 2022 An initiative founded by Qatar Foundation in 2013, WISH has become a leading global platform where scientists, entrepreneurs and policy makers meet to develop solutions to major health issues facing the world today and explore ways in which innovation can improve these issues for the future. Sport for Health Conference Under the auspices of the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) WHO, the Ministry of Public Health of the State of Qatar and Generation Amazing are hosting a Sport for Health Conference, incorporating the 4th scientific meeting of Football is Medicine, in Doha, Qatar, from 4–6 October 2022. The conference aims to strengthen global networks and translate science into policy and practice around the use of football and sport for health. International and local experts, researchers, practitioners and policy makers will review existing evidence on the efficacy and impact of sport for health programmes and identify future pathways to more effective implementation.
