Background:

At its regular meeting held from 3 to 6 October 2022, SAGE reviewed a range of vaccine policy issues, including: variant-containing COVID-19 vaccines, WHO’s interim guidance on Monkeypox vaccination, RSV candidate vaccines, Immunization Agenda 2030 and polio eradication.  The Committee was briefed on the situation of the Sudan ebolavirus outbreak in Uganda, candidate vaccines and the proposed vaccination trial.

What is SAGE?

The Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Immunization is the principal advisory group to WHO for vaccines and immunization. It is charged with advising WHO on overall global policies and strategies, ranging from vaccines and technology, research and development, to delivery of immunization and its linkages with other health interventions.
