Click here Monday 26 April, 2021 MEDIA ADVISORY As part of WHO's transformation, the WHO Director-General has established a WHO Science Council to provide advice on high-priority scientific issues that could have a direct impact on global health. Comprising 9 leading scientists from around the world, the Council will be chaired by Professor Harold Varmus, the winner of the 1989 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. The Council will hold its first meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, 27 April, when it will decide on initial steps and a programme of work. A social live discussion will take place Tuesday, 27 April at 17:00 CEST with Dr Soumya Swaminathan, WHO Chief Scientist and Science Council members.
