Countdown to the CRC Symposium!

This week, CRC Daily covers all-things Symposium. The event kicks off Thursday in Austin, Texas. We’ll start by spotlighting some favorite HCPro products that our expert faculty have developed. Stay tuned for on-the-scene event coverage later in the week here and on our Twitter account. And if you’re interested in joining us, there’s still time to register here.

Don’t confuse medical staff membership with medical staff privileges

When the credentials committee considers an application, that application contains two parts. The first is for membership in the medical staff. Criteria for such membership may include type of licensure, education, training, and experience. The second part is for privileges, which define the scope of clinical care that an applicant can administer and should be matched to that applicant’s current clinical competency.

Medical staff leadership positions, Part 6: Voluntary or compensated?

Are medical staff leadership positions voluntary or compensated? If they are compensated, who pays? Once again, the approach and answer to these questions are a direct reflection of an organization’s culture, as there are no prescriptions on how to do this nor is there one way to accomplish this.
