“Republicans want to gut Social Security and Medicare to give more tax breaks to the wealthy.” -President Obama

Republican leadership, led by Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy, have made it clear that they plan to end Medicare and Social Security as we know them if they regain power. Our election -- in just 8 days -- is a crossroads when American voters will decide whether we want a future where we support those who depend on Medicare and Social Security or one where we turn our backs on them.

The only way we stop this attack is by electing Democrats to the Senate, like Oregon’s Ron Wyden, who will always defend and protect Medicare and Social Security. The path to a majority in the U.S. House also runs right through Oregon, so we must elect all six of our Democratic candidates to the U.S. House.

Time and time again Americans have declared their overwhelming support for Medicare and Social Security, yet Republicans have continued their attacks on these core pieces of the American safety net. We’ve defeated them each time, but this time dark-money PACs are spending millions of dollars to back them up.
