You learn something new every day
Jon Weinstein has been named entrepreneur in residence at the Simon Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and assistant teaching professor at the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland. Loyola was originally founded as Loyola College in Maryland by John Early in 1852. Weinstein, with a different first name spelling than the college's founder, brings more than 30 years of entrepreneurial expertise to the university.
Unlike Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, another private Catholic institution that you'll learn more about in today's newsletter, Loyola is a Jesuit school. I learned something new today: While the Jesuits have strong ties to education, not every Catholic school or college is run by the Jesuits.
Wendy Bolger, the founding director of the Simon Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, expressed her enthusiasm for Weinstein's appointment in a press release: "We are pleased to welcome his contributions to our work with students in the innovation and entrepreneurship minor and with Baltimore entrepreneurs in the Baltipreneurs Accelerator."
