| | | | We all own this convo on tech and policing The finale of David Simon's HBO miniseries on the Gun Trace Task Force, "We Own This City," has aired. So, for the last time as this series is running (but likely not the last time ever), we're discussing where policing and tech intersect. As we look back on the season and think about Baltimore Police Department and GTTF's legacies, I ask: How can tech help with police reform? What technology out there do you think can help transform policing and improve community trust? Where is the tech innovation and ingenuity that disrupts the policing industry, like Uber did for transportation or Airbnb for the hospitality industry? Those maybe aren't the greatest examples, in terms of the cascading effects on society, but you get my point. Tech is often heralded as revolutionary — for economies, industries, lives. What do you think tech's impact on policing looks like, or should look like?
