Steps to Take to Build a Planned Giving Program

Thursday, October 10 | 2:00 - 3:15 PM ET

Join us this Thursday, October 10 at 2 PM ET for the webinar Steps to Take to Build a Planned Giving Program to learn actionable steps to help start or enhance planned giving at your nonprofit. It’s a chance to learn how to steward your supporters meaningfully and grow your organization’s impact.

You'll learn from our expert guests:
  • Aquanetta Betts oversees planned giving at George Mason University. Previously, she was senior executive director of planned giving at World Vision (Eastern U.S.). Before working in fundraising, Betts was an estate planning attorney in D.C. and Maryland. She serves as board member at the Baltimore Estate Planning Council and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, where she is DEI committee chair. Betts is also the immediate past president of the Chesapeake Planned Giving Council.

  • Sean Twomey leads planned-giving strategies that support the mission and vision of The Wilderness Society, a land conservation nonprofit. Since taking on this role more than a decade ago, he has overseen a transformation of the program, prioritizing donor-centric relationships and fundraising best practices as the pillars of success. Annual revenue from planned giving has grown exponentially under his leadership — from roughly $2 million, on average, to as much as $11 million one year. Twomey transitioned into planned giving in 2014 following an extensive background in the performing arts, in which he worked and performed with the symphony orchestras of Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Kitchener-Waterloo. He also has served as adjunct faculty at Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and instructor at Peabody Preparatory.
Featured speakers: Aquanetta Betts, Sean Twomey. Host: Emily Haynes.
