Ryan Merkel serves as Chief Development Officer at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C, and oversees a team that raises from $6 to $8 million a year through major-gift, membership, foundation, corporate and government campaigns. Ryan is the primary liaison with the theater’s 40+ person board of directors and a member of the Senior Staff.
Jeffrey L. Shaw currently serves as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Harris-Stowe State University, overseeing alumni engagement, development, and advancement services. In this role, he also serves as the Executive Director of the Harris-Stowe Foundation. Previously, he held fundraising leadership roles at Texas Southern University, Florida A&M University, and the United Negro College Fund, Inc.
