A few months ago, we put out a call to the industry to assemble their most talented teams. The main requirements being having a passion for social impact, and a vision of how to change the world with 5G technology. We received over 150 submissions, of which only five projects were selected to pitch in front of judges at Verizon’s headquarters in New York City!
All finalists attended the 26th Annual Webby Awards show, where the winning team was announced on stage for the first time in Webby Awards history!
Team FramePerfect accepted the 5G for Change Webby Award, presented by Verizon’s Chief Creative Officer Andrew McKechnie, for their project tackling illegal logging in Guyana’s rainforests, using 5G and AI-powered sound monitoring devices!
Shomari Williams and Andrew Garnett of Team FramePerfect accepted the award on stage. Their 5-Word Speech? “Nothing changes by doing nothing.”
