I thank those readers who have donated in 2016 to the Middle East Forum, and I invite you who have not yet done so to send a tax-deductible contribution, most easily by clicking here.
I hope you, as one of our 80,000 subscribers, agree that we have set the standard for insightful Middle East analyses forwarding American interests – from diplomacy to terrorism to academic and media malfeasance. We leave no stone unturned, even debating the burkini.
Our intellectual reach is vast. So far in 2016, 366 articles by 55 experts appeared in 64 publications, from D.C.’s The Hill to Turkey’s Hürriyet to TheHuffington Post; our experts were quoted 1,207 times by 93 publications, from Agence France-Presse to The Washington Post; our websites attracted 7 million page views; and our social media posts reached 15 million people.

While our words move opinions, our activism gets things done. Here are three recent successes:
1. Countering Islamist infiltration – Our 49 meetings with members of Congress or their staff led to: (1) a House bill prohibiting the Department of Homeland Security from funding or collaborating with associates of the Muslim Brotherhood; and (2) a House bill prohibiting foreigners from countries that do not respect religious liberties from funding religious activities in the U.S.
In 2017, we will educate on the need to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.
2. Influencing foreign policy – Another 53 meetings with members of Congress or their staff led to language in the House State and Foreign Operations Appropriations bill report forcing the State Department to justify UNRWA’s ruinous practice of Palestinian refugee proliferation. For more information, see a Jerusalem Post news report.
In 2017, we will launch a campaign to steer U.S. policy toward backing an Israeli victory over the Palestinians as the way to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict.
3. Countering Islamist political influence – We revealed the top ten recipients of 2015-16 Islamist campaign contributions, with Hillary Clinton far atop the list, accepting $62,156. Our news led to numerous interviews and articles, and even a tweet by Donald Trump. In all, we have publicized 3,102 contributions worth $1.5 million from 1,356 Islamists to 504 politicians, parties, and PACs.
Our Education Fund multiplies our efforts, supporting about 80 like-minded individuals and organizations.
For example, NGO Monitor has investigated World Vision, a charity operating in Palestinian territories, and advised the group’s governmental donors. Last August, Israel charged World Vision’s Gaza manager with funneling $43 million to Hamas.
In brief: Our analysts influence the public debate. Our activism gets things done. Our funds encourage and enable allies.
We would be grateful if you would support our work with a donation.
I look forward to keeping you informed as we continue to promote American interests and protect Western values.
Yours sincerely,
Daniel Pipes President
