| | | Memorial Hall celebrates its centenary! The iconic Memorial Hall in Hamilton Hill was built in 1925 in memory of both the fallen and returned soldiers who fought in World War I. The local community at the time, spearheaded by Maud Winfield, raised funds to build the hall which provided a much-needed space for socialising and connection. Over the years, 'Mem Hall' has been used for events such as dances, art exhibitions (including the City's annual Show Off exhibition), Anzac Day ceremonies, weddings and parties, and more. To celebrate 100 years, the City is hosting several events at the hall over the 21-22 March weekend, kicking off with Friday Night Music courtesy of award-winning Maatakitj and De Cuba Son. |
