During the years around menopause, some women have hot flashes, night sweats, difficulty sleeping, or other troublesome symptoms. A variety of complementary health approaches have been studied to see whether they can help relieve these problems.  Yoga seems to be at least as effective as other types of exercise in relieving menopause symptoms. Some studies of hypnotherapy and mindfulness meditation have had promising results. However, research on these approaches is in its early stages. The evidence doesnât support claims that custom-mixed (compounded) bioidentical hormones are more effective than conventional hormone therapy. |
