Today is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back. We're inviting you to celebrate Giving Tuesday by supporting a cause that does so much for Hawaiian Music.
The future of Hawaiian Music starts with YOU.
Cyril's commitment to teaching was instrumental in expanding the Hawaiian Music Masters Youth Outreach program to over 1,200 students and 20 schools Statewide.
"The Heart of Hawaiian culture is the beat of the music. Playing Hawaiian music is one of my life's greatest joys, one we hope to share with as many people as possible ~ Cyril Pahinui
Together we can provide music instruction and mentorship to young students who otherwise have no access to lessons.
Because just one experience with music can change a child's life forever.
Naalehu Theatre is proud to support the Student performances at the Gabby Pahinui Waimanalo Kanikapila and the Mana Mele Music video program through our Hawaiian Music Masters Youth Outreach classes to bring music to our communities & our children. for the
13th Annual Gabby Pahinui Waimānalo Kanikapila at Waimānalo Beach Park
"It's a very nice place and we get a good crowd. The music tells it all."
~Cyril Pahinui
As a tribute to his late father, Cyril Pahinui initiated the Gabby Pahinui Waimānalo Kanikapila in 2007. Since then, it has grown to become one of Hawai'i's premier celebrations of Hawaiian music. The Na'alehu Theatre, Pahinui Productions and Outrigger Resorts are proud to continue Cyril's efforts and carry this unprecedented event forward celebrating the musical heritage of Waimānalo along with Gabby's April 22nd, and Cyril's April 21st birthdays. Please save the date and plan to join us!
The festival is designed after gatherings remembered from Cyril's childhood days, when weekends at the family's home on Bell Street in Waimānalo were a continuous kanikapila. As in those days, the event attracts more than 100 musicians and gives thousands of fans an opportunity to witness some truly unforgettable moments, amazing performances, and one of a kind all-star jams by some of Hawai'i's greatest musicians who get together to play music in the park.
The Gabby Pahinui Waimānalo Kanikapila is FREE to attend and is supported by limited edition-collectible t-shirt sales. The 2020 limited edition, now in printing is the last of our picture-shirt designs and will be available at the event or online soon at: www.gabbypahinui.com
