| Stop sneezing money away
The allergy season is on its way! Do you stock one or more private labels of cetirizine 10 mg HCI tablets? Be aware that your wholesaler's private label more than likely has the correct retail price, allowing you a respectable profit margin. However, the cetirizine from a different source will have a price way under the suggested retail for its private label. Remember, private label retail pricing has little to do with cost, but instead is based on the brand's retail. Check your pricing today; you may be giving dollars away!
| | Imagine yourself on the beach
According to the popular web travel site Start the Adventure, the peak period for Spring Break is in March! Today, update and fill your sunglasses rack(s), stock up on sunscreen, sunburn relief products and lip balms. There are few other things you should stock up; just use your imagination.
| | National Foci
Here are a few topics that you will want to merchandise for and mention on your digital media. March is National Nutrition Month, Colorectal Cancer Awareness month, and the fourth week of March is National Poison Prevention Week. The third week is International Brain Awareness week which is an excellent time to promote your nootropic supplements, like Omega, fish oils, Ginkgo Biloba, and resveratrol.
| | Do well with wound care
The month of March merchandisers refreshes their cough, cold, and allergy sections along with updating the first aid sections and wound care. If you have a first aid section that is 12ft long, you will want to consider downsizing to 8ft or finding room to expand by adding a 4ft section of wound care. Wound care has a very respectable profit margin and is a section that does well with an accessible pharmacist to consult. That leaves the big box stores and some chains with a disadvantage.
| | Priority one merchandising
You are a born merchandiser if you can't stop pulling things to the front of the shelf and you go bonkers when you discover a crooked shelf. However, if you are a merchandiser that insists that all shelves in a planogram must be set parallel to each other, you have a slight problem, especially if your gondolas are 54" or shorter in height. Merchandising priority one, a customer must easily be able to take a product off the shelf without tipping anything. Then and only then, if you have the extra space, you can line up your shelves parallel to each other. Having your shelves all parallel to each other is a distant second priority.
