From packages to people: Amazon’s new self-driving taxi

Amazon is pretty efficient when it comes to delivering packages, but would you consider letting the company “deliver” you to your destination? Amazon bought a startup called Zoox that builds a self-driving robotic taxi that resembles a tiny bus. It’s fully electric and can fit up to four passengers but here’s the crazy part: there’s no front or back since it’s designed to operate in either direction and there’s no driver seat.

Amazon showed off the new Zoox a few days ago and hopes to have it eventually operating in major cities. Hopefully they come up with something better than Prime Taxi. But would you rather stay grounded or take to the skies?
