Hi Achternaam,

Some randomness for your Thursday morning...

One moment, I'm moving the couch to vacuum underneath ('cause it's been far too long). Suddenly, I'm rearranging the whole living room! Everything seems new and fresh. :) Our nativity now has a lovely new place in our living room.

And speaking of the holidays, I hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year's. My team and I are taking a little break for the holidays, so the newsletter will be back in January.

I'll leave you with these articles for now:

Canning Roma Tomatoes - New Canning Chat! Why do Roma tomatoes take so long in the water bath canner? That's a great question from Kay in Manitoba, Canada.

Learn about Canning Roma Tomatoes here.

Canning Ground Venison - Do you need to make room in your freezer after hunting season? These directions are for canning ground venison, packed loose in the jar (hot pack).

Misunderstandings in Canning - This is an excellent guest post from a reader, Fred Bradely, who is also a microbiologist. She brings up some good points, including some of the potential dangers associated with using older canning methods.

Preserving Apples - Finally, in case you still have apples from the fall harvest, this is the page for ideas on preserving them.

Again, I hope you have a wonderful holiday, and I'll talk to you soon!
