More companies are making efforts to reduce meeting bloat in their people’s calendars, as we see in our Recruiting & Retention story today. I like what Shopify is doing with consolidating some meetings to Thursdays and eliminating them entirely on Wednesdays. I also like how Logikcull is converting some of its meetings into emails. But maybe we need some rules around those “this was a meeting but now it’s an email” note. I’ve received a few of those. “War and Peace” was less tedious -- and took fewer words. If we’re turning a meeting into an email, let’s use bullets, brief paragraphs and keep it above the scroll. What are you doing to eliminate unnecessary meetings? How are you making better use of the time when you do gather folks together? Let me know! And if you enjoy this brief, tell others so they can benefit also.
