New Year, New Opportunities |
|
As state legislatures reconvene for new legislative sessions across the country this week, many are already considering adult-use cannabis legalization. Lawmakers in Minnesota and Virginia have reintroduced legalization bills from past years as shifting political tides signal greater support for the issue, while the governors of New York and Connecticut have once again made legalization a priority in their legislative agendas. Meanwhile, in New Jersey, where voters approved an adult-use legalization initiative in the 2020 election, lawmakers are fine-tuning legislation to implement the will of the people, finalizing a bill this week that would leverage fines for underage cannabis use, as requested by Gov. Phil Murphy. Which states will successfully legalize this year? Check out our predictions here, and follow along with Cannabis Business Times as we track the flurry of activity in the states this year. -Melissa Schiller, Senior Digital Editor |
