"Bones"

"FROM THE ROAD, the Lamar River winds a twisted, blue path through bleached-yellow meadows in Yellowstone National Park’s northeast corner. Sky-scratching, timbered ridges of granite and basalt surround the meadows." So begins Chester Allen's remembrance of a fine September day in one of North America's great wildernesses.

INSIDE THE BOX:  Daniel Galhardo of Tenkara USA talks with MidCurrent publisher Marshall Cutchin and shows how easy it is to set up a tenkara rod.  On Thursday Scott takes a closer look at the Bauer Reels 2020 lineup, including the new RVR fly reel.

In a brand new video, Charlie Craven demonstrates how to tie the venerable Royal Wulff. "I have no idea what makes this fly so attractive to the fish," says Charlie, "but perhaps Lee Wulff had the right idea when he suggested that this fly imitates a piece of strawberry shortcake."
