DAVE KARCZINSKI, who teaches writing at the University of Michigan, took it upon himself a couple of years ago to compare the angling writing of Jim Harrison and Thomas McGuane. As he noted, "Two things Michiganders don’t have to look far beyond their borders for are good beer and good writers (and may they remain forever twained)."
