ONE OF TOM ROSENBAUER'S earliest books was "The Orvis Guide to Prospecting for Trout." It was likely a take-off from an earlier book called "Prospecting for Trout" (1993), which itself probably included material from "Reading Trout Streams" (1988). The Orvis Guide version has been re-edited and expanded multiple times. Why does it remain so popular? Because it's essential knowledge. Here are two examples from books in the series. Both are worth your time: "Rich and Poor Trout Streams" and "Reading the Water."
