South State Corp. combining with Florida bank

Columbia-based South State is combining with CenterState Bank in an all-stock deal valued at $6 billion. The new organization, with around $34 billion in assets, will be headquartered in Winter Haven, Fla.

Income tax returns now being accepted

There are several changes for taxpayers filing 2019 income tax returns, including different amounts for the Motor Fuel Income Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit and Two Wage Earner Credit.
