Here’s what Mitt Romney and other leaders say Utah needs to do ahead of a 2034 Olympics
The time for Utah to prepare for the 2034 Winter Olympics is now, former Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt, Sen. Mitt Romney and other leaders said Friday.
The International Olympics Committee will officially vote on the host for the 2034 games on July 24, but Salt Lake City is the committee's preferred host.
“The value of the Olympics to the state is the 10 years in advance of the Games, during which there is a huge amount of back pressure that will allow you to get a lot of things done that you could never get done in their absence,” Leavitt said.
