Editor's Notes Welcome to a new week, with a new opportunity from Baltimore's Digital Harbor Foundation: The Federal Hill-based tech education nonprofit is partnering with Pittsburgh language learning tech company Duolingo as it looks to provide opportunity for a new generation of assessment researchers. During the summer of 2021, three fellows from Digital Harbor Foundation will embed with the team at Duolingo English Test, which offers a certification for English proficiency. The fellows will "research and publish on assessment design driven by data science through a computational psychometric framework all motivated by the desire to create opportunities for English language learners," according to a message from DHF. The virtual fellowship in computational psychometrics is open to doctoral candidates. Learn more here. —Stephen Babcock, Technical.ly Assistant Editor (stephen@technical.ly) |
