| | | | The Salesforce 20s? Hey, help me figure out if this is a trend in the making, will you? I've been seeing more entrepreneurs build new software businesses through Salesforce via tools like its AppExchange marketplace. In Baltimore alone, this includes Youreka Labs, who I just caught up with last week, and Benefits App. Two's not quite a trend (need three in journalism, folks), but this seems like it could be a new growth area for startups. These things tend to go in waves. In the 2000s we saw the App Store change the game leading to an explosion of business creation that's still adding to your phone's library. Last decade, Amazon's rise spawned new software businesses to help brands with ecommerce operations and analytics (See: Baltimore's Whitebox, Zentail, Tradeswell and Flywheel Digital). Is Salesforce this decade's engine? I'm curious if you have thoughts about whether this is real, or experience with Salesforce's marketplace. Maybe this is already a trend that I am just missing?
