It's the familiar pattern, again: Thick, freezing fog overnight into the morning, under overcast skies. A dense fog advisory is in effect for central Minnesota tonight until tomorrow morning. Lows tonight range from 15 to 21, highs tomorrow will be in the mid-20s. Find more on the Updraft.

In the wake of the violence at the U.S. Capitol yesterday, Minnesota lawmakers on Capitol Hill call for unseating President Trump via the 25th Amendment or impeachment.  Democratic U.S Sen. Tina Smith says she's in support of invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump during his final weeks in office, an effort joined by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer. Smith says Trump stoked the unprecedented event yesterday.

Separately, Rep. Ilhan Omar drafted a resolution to impeach the president. In a tweet, Speaker Pelosi said if Trump is not removed via the 25th Amendment, she supports moving forward on impeachment.

Two Republicans from Minnesota’s congressional delegation, Reps. Michelle Fischbach and Jim Hagedorn, joined six members of the Senate and the 121 members of the House in objecting to the certification of the Electoral College votes in Arizona and Pennsylvania last night.

In COVID-19 news, Minnesota reported an additional 2,000 new cases today. The cases come on top of more than 42,000 new tests, a higher number after several days of low testing volume over the holidays. The state is also reporting 44 more deaths.

Meanwhile, more than 91,000 Minnesotans have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Nearly 400,000 doses of the vaccine have been delivered to Minnesota since mid-December.
