LGBTQ students are more likely to be bullied and harassed, which can lead to a higher risk of suicide, according to several studies. Often these students need a safe place, whether that’s a teacher or a school staff person who support them. Today, I spoke with a school teacher-turned advocate and a pediatrician specializing in gender health to help explain how to navigate talking with your children about gender identity and how to create an inclusive environment for all students at school. ~  Angela Davis, MPR News host | Updraft blog | Forecast
 
Minnesota health officials say severe lung injuries linked to vaping THC
The Minnesota Department of Health says nearly 30 such cases in Minnesota are among hundreds reported nationwide. Many cases seem to be linked to marijuana consumption.

'100 deadliest days': Summer dangerous again on Minnesota roads
The three months between Memorial Day and Labor Day are known as the 100 deadliest days on Minnesota roads. The Department of Public Safety says this year was no different, with 132 people dying in summer traffic accidents.
