A Prior Lake man was charged in a Wisconsin courtroom Monday for fatally stabbing a teenager and wounding four other people who were tubing on the Apple River on Saturday.

St. Croix County prosecutors charged 52-year-old Nicolae Miu with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 17-year-old Isaac Schuman and attempted first-degree homicide for allegedly wounding four people in their 20s who were tubing with the teen.

Witness accounts included in the criminal complaint indicate that the confrontation started when some in the group accused Miu of approaching children. Miu told investigators he was looking for a lost phone.

During a brief hearing, Judge Michael Waterman set Miu's bond at $1 million.
