Hang in there, Minnesota! It's almost done, almost. MPR chief meteorologist Paul Huttner forecasts wind and snow gradually ease across southern Minnesota as we move into Friday while northern and western Minnesota picks up another 5 to 10 inches. Temperatures near 60 degrees in the next 10 days will feel very nice.

Minnesota shakes: Winds howl, travel fouled, thousands without power
High winds in excess of 50 and 60 mph have been recorded across Minnesota Thursday. The severe thunderstorm-level wind gusts snapped hundreds of power poles across several southern Minnesota counties.

Irwin Jacobs, wife found dead at home, family friend says

Police responded to a call of two people dead at the well-known businessman's Lake Minnetonka home. An associate says a family member confirmed the dead are Irwin and his wife Alexandra.
