| Oct. 17, 2019 Delightful, nice fall weather tomorrow: Many areas will top out in the 60s on Friday, with a few 50s in far northern Minnesota. A passing shower is expected in eastern Minnesota, including the metro area, overnight Friday night. More rain could hit some parts of the state Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned! Speaking of weather, we could be in for another "Minne-snow-ta" this winter: A new weather outlook indicates chances are good that Minnesota will see a snowier-than-normal winter, again. In Duluth,a mysterious patternon the National Weather Service's radar puzzled meteorologists over what it might be. One meteorologist thought it was "possibly smoke from a wildfire, or a large structure fire, or perhaps a prescribed burn occurring." Well, not even close: It was an estimated 670,000 ring-necked ducks taking off from Rice Lake , making the strange pattern. Happy "almost" Friday! ~ Jiwon Choi, MPR News| Updraft blog | Forecast | |
