❄️ Halloween snow? What you need to know. If you’re not ready for winter yet, the forecast for Halloween could be looking a bit scary for parts of Minnesota. Here are some resources to keep you up-to-date on the potential for snow. 🔥 Politics run hot in Bemidji area Minnesota House race. A Minnesota House race in the northwest pits DFLer Reed Olson against Republican newcomer Bidal Duran for the open District 2A seat. Duran has a somewhat controversial record from working law enforcement. However, in a very red area of the state, Olson has an uphill battle. 🏒 Pro Women's Hockey League announces it could add as many as 2 teams for 2025-26 season. Among the U.S. expansion candidates are Detroit and Pittsburgh, where the PWHL hosted neutral site games during its inaugural season last year. Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia would also be regarded as candidates.
🚨 St. Paul police shoot, critically injure man suspected in Minneapolis homicides. Authorities announced Tuesday afternoon that the 40-year-old man — who reportedly pointed a handgun at St. Paul officers — was a suspect in two recent Minneapolis shootings, including one at a homeless encampment on Sunday that left two people dead. 🏛️ Former North Dakota lawmaker awaiting sentencing on child sex charges will be jailed. In October 2023, federal prosecutors charged Ray Holmberg with repeatedly traveling to Prague, in the Czech Republic, to sexually abuse minors. 🚓 Community, culture and healing at 3rd Precinct: Coalition presses for cultural district. In Minneapolis, community group Confluence and the 3000 Minnehaha Coalition are using art and public gatherings to challenge the city’s proposal for a “Democracy Center” at the site of the former 3rd Precinct police station, ⚽ Jefferson Diaz scores the decisive goal in a 5-4 shootout as Minnesota beats RSL in MLS playoffs. It marked Minnesota’s first MLS Cup playoff win via a penalty kick shootout in club history. United can clinch a spot in the Western Conference semifinals with another victory over RSL on Saturday. |
