Photos: Thousands brave Thanksgiving cold to run and walk Turkey Day 5K

Thousands of runners flocked to downtown Minneapolis on Thursday for the annual Turkey Day 5K, the largest Thanksgiving race in the Twin Cities.

Runners of all ages — many wearing festive hats and turkey costumes — faced a breezy and cold morning with highs in the low 20s. 
 
Minnesotans seek long-term contraception after Trump win, worry about abortion access

While Minnesota passed the PRO Act last year protecting abortion access statewide, residents say they are still worried what the upcoming Trump-Vance administration could do.

Planned Parenthood North Central States recently reported it has seen a 150 percent increase in patients scheduling appointments for long-acting birth control options like implants and intrauterine devices, or IUDs, since Trump won.

Other Minnesota health care systems like Mayo Clinic, HealthPartners, Allina Health and more said it is too early to tell if their systems are experiencing the same increase.
🛷 Minnesota businesses that rely on snow hope for better conditions after less-than-ideal winter last year. Businesses such as Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge and White Wilderness Dogsled Tours in Ely and Mount Ski Gull in Nisswa are working to prepare for their upcoming seasons after a less-than-ideal experience last year.

🛒 More deals, more spending: What Black Friday has in store. This holiday shopping season is poised to break spending records. A new survey finds  people plan to spend $771 on average.

🎞️ Cube Critics get Glicked, seeing both ‘Wicked’ and ‘Gladiator II’. “Wicked” is the winter blockbuster everyone’s been anticipating; “Gladiator II,” meanwhile, pales in comparison to its predecessor.

🛍️ Why retailers still see Black Friday as the high point of the holiday shopping season. Retailers see the day after Thanksgiving as a way to get shoppers into physical stores. Mall of America, for instance, is giving the first 200 people in line at the center's north entrance a $25 gift card.

🏆 Vito the pug is the first of his breed to win National Dog Show's top prize. Vito, a pug from Chapel Hill, N.C., beat out more than 1,900 dogs representing more than 200 breeds and varieties that competed in this year's event.

🏀 Anthony Edwards calls his struggling Timberwolves 'soft' and 'just a bunch of little kids'. The Minnesota Timberwolves star was particularly candid in a profanity-laced explanation of his team’s recent struggles following a 115-104 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

📝 Israel and Hezbollah have a cease-fire agreement. Here's what it says. The cease-fire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel brokered by the United States and France was characterized by President Joe Biden as an attempt to deliver a "permanent cessation of hostilities."

🎄 O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree, which is more sustainable: real or plasticky? 
It's time to discuss one of the perennial debates of the holiday season. Are real Christmas trees or their fake counterparts more eco-friendly?
