🍂 Not quite sweater weather season yet. Tuesday will bring temperatures back above normal with some filtered sun through some mid and high clouds. Most of Minnesota will see highs in the 70s.
☀️ The remainder of the week will be continued sunny and dry with above-normal temperatures in the 70s. Skies will be sunny also Wednesday through Friday.
A MPR News, KARE 11, Star Tribune poll shows that Democratic vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz has a slightly higher favorability rating in Minnesota than former President Donald Trump’s running mate Sen. JD Vance, but voters are mixed about Walz’s crisis responses as governor.
The point of the debate is not to determine a winner — the point is to introduce students to a new way of understanding people they disagree with. It’s part of a bigger, year-long initiative at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University called Disagreeing Better.

👮🏽 Morales out as chief of Metro Transit Police. The departure comes after Morales was placed on paid leave in August for unspecified reasons. A Met Council spokesperson confirmed Morales “has left the organization,” but did not provide further details.
🏗️ Minnesota Power plans to build solar projects in Cohasset and Royalton. Julie Pierce, vice president of strategy and planning for Minnesota Power, called the projects a “key milestone” in the utility’s shift away from producing electricity by burning coal toward cleaner sources of energy. ❌ Trump says he wouldn’t run for president again in 2028 if he loses this time. When asked whether he would run again in four years if his current presidential bid is unsuccessful, Trump said “I don’t see that at all.” He would be 82 in 2028 — a year older than Biden is now.
