🌿 Judge halts cannabis license lottery that is precursor to Minnesota marijuana retail launch. A judge sided with a group of applicants who had been denied access to the social equity pre-approval lottery. They sued over a process they argued had lacked clear criteria and that left no room for appeals. 🏛️ Lawsuit challenges Minnesota abortion access in federal court. The lawsuit alleges three women “were all subjected to the termination of their parental rights and relationships with their children by involuntary and unwanted abortions.” The lawsuit also argues that “abortion, as practiced under Minnesota law, is not medical treatment.” 🗳️ Minnesota House recounts keep two DFLers in the lead, court challenge likely. A pair of DFL lawmakers remained on track to keep their House seats after their election counts were affirmed Monday, which keeps the chamber on course to be tied next year. But the result of one race is likely headed to court. ⛏️ Minnesota DNR delays decision on key proposed copper-nickel mine permit. A judge said NewRange’s plan to use a kind of clay known as bentonite to safely store reactive mine waste was not “practical and workable" because it wouldn’t prevent water from moving over or through the tailings. 🎅 Critical DMs: Tomte at the American Swedish Institute. Old National and Bremer Financial announced Monday morning a $1.4 billion merger agreement that will make Old National the third-largest bank in the Twin Cities and expand its banking footprint throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. 🚓 Two injured when vehicle strikes sheriff’s squad along western Minnesota interstate. Dashcam video shared by the sheriff’s office shows the squad stopped along the left side of the freeway when the collision pushes the deputy’s vehicle forward and into the median cable barrier. |
