Some 44% of millennials believe that "referring to someone by the wrong gender pronoun (he/him, she/her) should be a criminal offense," per a poll from Redfield and Wilton Strategies on behalf of Newsweek. Thirty-one percent disagreed, while the remaining respondents said they neither agreed nor disagreed or didn't know. Full Story.

Former Vice President Mike Pence's recent comments saying he opposes abortion even when an unborn child is diagnosed with a terminal illness has re-sparked a debate on the ethics of abortion when doctors deem an unborn child to be "incompatible with life." A former Pence advisor noted that Pence's support for abortion bans does not include cases where the mother's life is at risk, including ectopic pregnancies. Read more.

Celebration Church founders Stovall and Kerri Weems have filed a lawsuit against the Association of Related Churches and several of its executive team members—including Church of the Highlands founder and leader Chris Hodges—accusing them of "engineering" a takeover of the Jacksonville, Fla., church and damaging the Weems' reputations. The lawsuit comes more than a year after Stovall Weems was forced to formally resign from the church amid a legal battle with its board of trustees and officers

All four candidates for bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany, which recently garnered headlines for refusing to bless same-sex marriages, have indicated that they will allow the practice. The diocese has been without a bishop since William Love's resignation in 2021. Love issued an open letter in 2020 refusing to enforce a denominational rule requiring all dioceses to allow for the blessing of gay marriages. Read more.
