Misleading claims fuel ban on LGBTQ+ health care

LGBTQ+ care: A failed effort to ban gender-affirming care for transgender youth - which lawmakers are trying to revive at the State Capitol - is being driven by claims doctors and state health officials call misleading, James Finn reports. 


Mills not sorry: Sen. Fred Mills, R-Parks, has received threats from activists and retailation from his Republican colleagues for casting the decisive vote to kill a ban on gender-affirming care for youth – but says he has no regrets. Finn has the story. 


Debt ceiling fight: Louisiana highway, airport and seaport projects would have been threatened had Congress not reached an agreement to raise the debt ceiling Sunday, Mark Ballard reports. Those projects are chiefly funded by the federal government.
