| | | Music was in the air throughout MIT’s inauguration festivities. In addition to performances by various groups at the street fair and inaugural ceremony, a special concert last Saturday featured vocalist Djuena Tikuna (pictured, top), a member of the indigenous Amazonian ethnic group the Tikuna, along with members of the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble, the MIT Wind Ensemble, and the MIT Vocal Jazz Ensemble, plus several MIT faculty and visiting artists. On Monday night, to round out the inauguration, singer-songwriters Marc Cohn and Shawn Colvin (pictured, bottom) performed for a packed audience at the Swraj Paul Theater at Kresge Auditorium.
