New COVID-19 vaccinations fell to their lowest point since February in the latest data from the Minnesota Department of Health.

State officials reported just over 4,100 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines delivered in the latest numbers — not even a quarter of the recent average of people initially seeking vaccines. And while Tuesdays usually represent a low point in the weekly cycle of COVID data, the latest numbers are a steep decline from the previous four weeks.

The first dose figure hasn't been this low since the last week in February. An MPR analysis of the numbers suggests it is the strongest sign yet that demand for vaccines is softening across the state.
