Though it does occur to me that most of the people who made Austin such an interesting, funky place to live- the artists and musicians, the waiters and bartenders, the shopkeepers and small business people- earn a lot less than that.
And so they’re leaving because they can’t afford to live there anymore… or even if they can, it’s not as much fun as it used to be.
It’s nothing new. Things change, and the dance goes on.
The lesson to be learned here is, good, interesting cultures are very precious, and they’re very fragile. So treat them with the deepest respect, or you’ll lose them, faster than you think.
Just letting you know.
CELEBRATE WINS
Anniversaries are great opportunities to celebrate and reinforce culture. The opportunity is to remind people about the beliefs, mindsets, and behaviors that got you where you are, and at the same time, spell out what will deliver success over the coming year(s). Below is a photo of the third-anniversary celebration at Miami Cancer Institute. Miami’s premier cancer treatment center.
