MOM Meets MTRX Studio

MOM is the natural, tactile extension for monitor control if you use an Avid MTRX Studio, and we made a video about how to integrate them.

In short, it taps into the Pro|Mon side of the DADman control software and is a sleek remote with a tiny footprint to save your precious desktop real estate.

Apart from a few MTRX Studio-specific aspects, the points in the video obviously also apply to all other DADman-powered products such as AX32, DX32R and MTRX.

Get Close to an AX32-Powered Recording Session
Christian Amonson / Seeing Sound kindly shared these amazing photos from a recent recording session, capturing Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica, California, USA.

The audio was recorded on 12 channels through an AX32, and you can see a lot of amazing photos from the recording session right here 👇

We can still deliver - and always has been able to! 😃

You may have heard about a general semiconductor shortage lately. For instance, car manufacturers struggle to get supplies. But long before that, our industry was hit by a fire at the AKM facility in Japan last year, as AKM makes ADC / DAC chips for a lot of pro audio manufacturers.

It would be natural to think that we might also have been affected by this. However, we would like to reassure you that this has never been the case. We do not use AKM chips in any converter products manufactured by NTP Technology, which includes the DAD brand.

Rest in Peace, Al Schmitt

Last month, we unfortunately lost a genuine superstar... He may not have posed on album covers, but he sure had a huge stake in some of the most legendary albums to have ever been released!

Over the course of no less than six decades, Al Schmitt played key producing roles on countless classic pop, rock and jazz albums, including Ray Charles, George Benson, Toto, Steely Dan, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, Norah Jones, Diana Krall and many many more.

We were fortunate to meet Al at a MET Alliance workshop at the former Avatar Studios in NYC a few years ago. Just attending as 'a fly on the wall' was downright amazing!

Al, you are already sorely missed, but we find comfort in the fact that apart from having helped creating so many great albums, you have also inspired generations of audio engineers, contributing to keep great sound a priority as we move forward. 🙏
